Indie/Persons Unknown/Badminton

The past few days have been what I like to call pleasantly busy, yet boring in the best sense. I've only got a couple days of school left, and I've finally finished working out rides to SummerStock shows/techdays. Also, I'm insanely happy that I get to help Mar out by teching three of her shows. That's 3 weeks of being helpful. Bring it on.

We purchased a badminton set about two days ago. Also the net is smaller then most, I've been extremely pleased with the results. It's addicting, and it never gets old, especially when you don't suck at it. We invited tons of super cool people over last night to play, and that was super stellar. I'm going to have a reason to see people during the summer now. Yeah!

I've noticed in the past weeks that my music interests are basically changing insanely fast. I've gotten really into Indie music. I love the idea of mixtapes. The songs that I'm listening to know put together would have to be a mix of hippi/happy/acoustic/hipster. My top ten songs of the past couple weeks would have to be:

1. Janglin-Sharpe, Edward, and the Magnetic Zeroes
2. No One's Gonna Love You-Band of Horses
3. Your Song-Elton John
4. You've Got You-Eric Hutchinson
5. Tightrope-Janelle Monae
6. Genius Next Door-Regina Spektor
7. Love Song (I own the live version)-Sara Bareilles
8. Fabric of My Life-Zooey Deschanel (oh but of course)
9. 2.99 Cent Blues-Regina Spektor
10. Laughing With-Regina Spektor (obviously..)

And last, I just want to type out a couple things about the new summer series that I'm kind of addicted to. Persons Unknown. If you've never seen it, let me explain things to you:

As we all know, NBC is very good at managing to fit all kinds of stereo types into their shows. Most people, including me, fall for the general show plots easily. The plot of the show may seem obvious and uncreative, but I'm proud of NBC for actually being smart enough to put up a "stereo-typical" plot and charactered show. So basically, there's 7 main characters who get kidnapped in their sleep, and wake up in a strange hotel in the middle of a tiny town that is surrounded by an electric force field. At this point in the show, after four episodes, we've grown with the characters to a good extent. Also, they've tried basically every escape that I they can think of. I don't want to go into details about what happened altogether in the last few weeks, because I can't do this all day, but for those who actually follow it, I'll share my thoughts (oh boy).

Me and my family knew from the very beginning that the character Joe seemed to... well.. calm. And perfect. Basically, he was your average Joe. He seemed to average to be kidnapped for no reason. And in the last episode, our thoughts were proven right. Joe is "one of them" (the "people" who did the kidnapping and "created" the town, and who is also looking through the cameras). My mom, at the end of episode, was thinking that Joe was more a volunteer, and was okay with what he was doing. But I think Joe was kidnapped before all of them, and is being threatened to keep going with what he's doing, being calm, and trying to keep all the kidnappies together/sane. I'm really interested how next week's episode goes. If you want to keep up with me and my Persons Unknown obsession, then watch it, every week on NBC, Mondays @ 10.

Peace, Chickadillies!
